The Fredericksburg Writers Conference invites you to join our contest. Get published in an award-winning newspaper! Enter the Fredericksburg Writers Conference Short Story Contest. Stories will be judged by a panel of published authors, and the top three places will be decided by the Fredericksburg Standard Radio Post editorial staff. The entry fee is $20 (cash preferred - we don't have a bank account yet) and a written critique is available for an additional $10 fee. The story must be set in or connected to the Texas Hill Country, suitable for publication by a community newspaper, 1200 words or less (Times New Roman or Courier fonts please) and the deadline is our next meeting on June 25, 2015. Mail three copies of your story to Short Story Contest, PO Box 2024, Fredericksburg, TX 78624.
Please only submit previously unpublished stories; poetry is acceptable if it is a narrative (Robert Service poems like The Spell of the Yukon come to mind).
Let's have some fun!
